IBM UK is partnering with Marvel Studios on a competition that challenges girls aged 11 to 14 across the UK to be a force for good. In particular, the work juxtaposes Captain Marvel’s strength and style to promote the key USP’s of the brand, including the durability, 4×4 capabilities, urban driving and stylish aesthetic of the vehicle.
Running from early March, the work capitalises on the movie’s strong female empowerment themes and characters and aims to drive enhanced awareness of the Jeep Renegade amongst a female target demographic. After the events of Avengers: Endgame and its five-year time jump, that means 2023.Ĭaptain Marvel didn't feature too much in Endgame (although she did help out in the epic final battle), so it's hard to find clues there for what the sequel's plot will be.Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel, the first female-led superhero movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, released in UK cinemas on International Women’s Day – March 8th 2019 and follows Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes. It's reported that the sequel will take place in "the present day", which we can assume will be the present day of the current MCU. There hasn't been an official plot synopsis from Marvel yet for the sequel, but it was referred to as a "cosmic adventure" so read into that what you want. We don't think it'd go as far as Monica being a villain of any kind, but it might not all be smooth sailing. WandaVision hinted that not all is well in the relationship between Carol and Monica, so that friction could form part of the sequel's storyline. In the comics, Monica became Captain Marvel before Carol, so there could be another Captain Marvel in town.Ĭaptain Marvel 2 plot: What will The Marvels be about?Īs mentioned before, the title likely refers to a team-up between Carol Danvers and Kamala Khan which might, or might not, feature Monica Rambeau too. The title could just refer to Carol and Kamala as the two Captain Marvels, but the events of WandaVision saw Monica gain superpowers. In the MCU, Danvers was never Ms Marvel, so it seems she will be the first Ms Marvel in that universe.īack in February 2019, Brie Larson had already been talking about Ms Marvel getting to "come into play in the sequel" and she's got her wish. In the comics, Kamala Khan assumed the mantle of Ms Marvel after Carol Danvers becomes Captain Marvel. Having debuted the role in WandaVision, Teyonah Parris will appear as the grown-up version of Monica Rambeau, while the sequel will also feature Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, aka Ms Marvel, who will make her MCU debut in the Disney+ series of the same name in late 2021. We already knew that Brie Larson would be back as Carol Danvers and at the Disney Investor Day in December 2020, it was confirmed that she'll have some exciting company. Captain Marvel 2 cast: Who's in The Marvels? But with that release shifted, we can't quite predict when filming will begin if the cast has other filming obligations. It's not been confirmed by Marvel when the sequel will start filming, although it had been reported to start shooting by the end of May which would have fit with the old November 2022 release.
